The association seeks to

• Extend and advance veterinary science
• Promote good fellowship among members of the association
  and among all members of the profession
• Secure the enforement of just laws concerning
  veterinary medicine
• Guard and foster the material interests of its members to
  protect them against imposition
• Protect public health
• Enlighten and direct public opinion in regard to the
  problems of veterinary medicine
• Provide availability of consultation among members
  for the rendering of more efficient and successful
  handling of individual veterinary problems
